Following the latest batch of casting announcements, shooting of the Harry Potter spinoff series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has begun in England. Set to star with Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, “the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures” will take place approximately 7 decades prior to the Harry Potter film series.
According to the Warner Brothers’ press release, they have also just revealed that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Book CoverSamantha Morton of Minority Report will be joining the cast as Mary Lou. Also starring Katherine Waterston as Tina, Alison Sudol from Dig as Tina’s sister Queenie, Dan Fogler as Jacob, Ezra Miller as Credence, Jenn Murray as Chastity, Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty and Colin Farrell as Graves, the film will be packed with stars.
While what we know about the characters is very little, we do know that Jacob isFantastic Beasts Movie Poster said to be a muggle, Credence set to rival Newt and Graves will be playing a wizard whom Newt meets in New York. Most fans are thrilled at the secrecy involved in the filming of the movie, while some are dying for more details. We’ll keep all fans abreast of the process as information comes to us.
